Cotton Candy Milkshake

Cotton Candy Milkshake by Occasional Indulgences Handbook -this is SO simple and tastes so good, perfect for summer!
I'm hoping I won't have to work in a fast food restaurant. Because while it would be great, learning all their secret recipes and whatnot, I like being able to say, "oh yeah, tomorrow I'm free, I can totally go to the pool with you" I think I'll have to way step it up on this blog, or teach piano (really hope it doesn't come to this!)

But, working at a fast food place does have it's advantages. My mom worked at Artic Circle and we can make all their things at home. Like, they're marshmallow milkshake. It's just milkshake with marshmallow fluff. Or their oreo shake.

One thing I've only seen at fast food places on the internet and NEVER in real life (I have to face the facts, Idaho isn't the busiest place on earth) is a cotton candy milkshake.

And guys, I want one sooooo bad! So I made it at home, and you can too!

Okay, this photo shoot. I don't think it's any secret that I don't have a fancy camera.

I want one reeeeeeaaaaaaally bad, but I'm lucky to have my little digital one, and for the most part, I'm okay with that.

The one thing I hate about it is how dependent upon the weather I am for good pictures. Once I watched my aunt (who always has amazing lighting in her photos) take some pictures, and it wasn't even special! It was just because she had a fancy camera that she was good at working!

If I want good pictures, it has to be cloudy. I'm starting to get in this habit every time it's rainy I get this crazy urge to bake. Or no-bake with milkshakes.

So, I saw it was cloudy, and I'm like "score! Hurry, we gotta go use up my cotton candy!" By the time I was done it was a crazy storm. So I waited for it to calm down just a little but it was still pretty nutsy. Cups were flying everywhere and the backdrop/blanket wouldn't hold still.

And, I don't have any good cups! I used three different things, a mason jar, a martini glass, and a plastic cup. Not to mention there's no straws . . . #foodbloggerproblems

This was super easy to make and tasted really good too! It was a hit with my family, well, except for the one crazy kid. I think getting a sunburn made him go crazy because this was delish. Crazy brother was trying to convince brother #1 it was gross. After tasting it, brother #1 said "this is good" So, this is good stuff, and is SO easy! Just throw some stuff in a blender and you're good to go.

 Cotton Candy Milkshake
Cotton candy, in liquid form!
Prep Time: 2 min.             Total Time:2 min.             Serves: 2
Ingredients:
  • 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 4 ice cubes (or this cotton candy ice!)
  • 6 big puffs of cotton candy
  • *optional*  1 teaspoon Duncan Hines cotton candy frosting flavor packet
Directions:
  1. Combine all ingredients. Taste and add more cotton candy or ice cream until you like it. If it tastes a little too "sugary" add more 1 more tablespoon of milk, a few more scoops of ice cream and more of the flavor packet.
Notes:
*I really reccomend using the flavor packet, it adds an extra boost of flavor without having a sugar overload.
*Your "puffs" should be a little bigger than a really big guy's hand, you don't have to be exact.
  * if your milkshake looks really ugly because you used cheap yellowish ice cream, you can add some food coloring.
